Born from the reflections inspired me during the 46TH cycle of the classic representations in Syracuse, this paper aims to highlight some distinctive features of translation of Hyppolitus composed for the occasion by Edoardo Sanguineti, poet and intellectual. We focused on the problem of loan translation, particularly with reference to the presence of many neologisms created by the translator, often to reproduce rare terms or apparent neologisms.
